About Us
In 1954, in Columbia, South Carolina, a group of Methodists chartered and founded Trenholm Road Methodist Church. Young families growing the city into the suburbs of Forest Acres decided to build a new church in the community. They were fueled by enthusiasm, confidence and faith to establish a church that would nurture their children, feed their souls through worship and become an influential presence of ministering to the community.
Since 1954, we’ve grown from 6 founding families to over 2,000 members, and from worshipping at the Carolina Children’s Home chapel, to a single building, to land and facilities that include classrooms, offices, a Leisure Ministries building with a full gym, kitchen and dining room.
Since our beginning, Trenholm Road has become and will continue to move forward as “a dynamic, active, Christ-centered community with richly diverse members, ministries and programs, effectively doing God’s work in the Midlands and beyond.”
